Mid-Winter Fest

Winter Fest Origins

The Apple Valley Mid-Winter Fest is a celebration of winter.
This annual festival began in 1978 with only a few activities and perhaps 100 participants. The festival has grown significantly since then.

Mid-Winter Fest Goals

The goal of having a Mid-Winter Fest in Apple Valley is twofold:

  • To foster a sense of community pride and spirit among Apple Valley residents
  • To make citizens aware of the winter recreational activities available in Apple Valley and give them a mid-winter boost via participation in a special winter-oriented program

The Apple Valley Mid-Winter Fest Committee feels strongly that winters are here to stay in Minnesota. We feel that the citizens of Apple Valley and neighboring communities should take advantage of this situation by participating in the winter activities that are available in our community. Rather than hide from winter, people should embrace it and all that it has to offer.
