Learn more about how to participate in a virtual City meeting
As part of the Local Emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to restrict in-person attendance to maintain social distancing, the City is using electronic means to supplement in-person meetings.
A virtual meeting link will be provided using the GoToWebinar platform approximately three days prior to the meeting. The link will allow you to register to participate in the meeting.
Providing Public Comments During an Electronic Meeting
Once the meeting has begun and you have jointed the meeting, you will be able to click on the Raise Hand icon to indicate your desire to speak. At times when public comments are taken during the meeting, the meeting chair will ask the virtual meeting moderator if there are any people in the virtual audience indicating their desire to speak. The moderator will then let the chair know if any virtual audience members have engaged the Raise Hand icon. If the icon is engaged, the moderator will then identify the name of the virtual audience member and will open the microphone so that the virtual audience member can speak to the Council and the audience. Please note that not all meeting items involve public comment. Public comments on any item may be submitted at anytime through the City's e-mail.
Viewing and Listening to an Electronic Meeting
For those who want to view a meeting, you can watch and listen over the government cable TV channel or through the webstream just as you have done in the past. Live, rebroadcast and on-demand viewing of meetings will still occur as normal by either the city website Webstream or the Apple Valley Government Channel on Spectrum channel 180 or Frontier channel 191 television services.
